Financial Controller

Our client has retained Hays Senior Finance on an exclusive basis to recruit a Financial Controller for the Belfast business. Our client is able to boast considerable growth and with more predicted for the future years. This is an exciting opportunity to be working along side some highly motivated and driven individuals. The role will be providing financial and commercial support to the Managing Director in the development of all aspects of the business. As part of the senior management team this candidate will become a integral member of the organisation.
                                                                                                
Role and Responsibilities:                                                     
              
Preparation and review of financial reports, including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, cash flow and tax returns. 
Preparation of board report highlighting financial and non- financial performance.
Efficient management of the finance and administrative departments.
Review reports and analyse projections of sales and income against actual figures and suggest methods of improving the planning process.
Continuing the development and ensuring the adequacy of accounting internal controls.
Review, analyse and report on variations from budget and challenge those responsible.
Advise and recommend potential cost saving initiatives.
Carry out project and investment appraisal and provide detailed analysis with recommendations. 
Contribute to the preparation of the company’s strategic plan. Prepare the annual budget and forecasts.
Monitor, measure and forecast current business performance and challenge rationale as appropriate.
Work closely with the directors as part of the senior management team to identify potential new opportunities for the business.
Company Secretarial & Administration, including compliance with all legal requirements. 
Oversee the preparation of the statutory annual accounts and present to board of directors.
Maintain contact with bankers, auditors and other stakeholders.
Adding value through supporting and advising on the financial consequences of commercial decisions.
